At Alchemy, our strategy is to incubate early and expansion stage opportunities to the point at which long-term value is visible and viable. Our strategy revolves around the following criteria:
- Products must be a core competence for Baril Corporation. That includes products that have their basis in die cutting, laser cutting, lamination, stamping or RF welding. Click here for details.
- Target market. The product must have the potential to serve a market of in excess of $20 million in annual product revenues.
- Viable intellectual property. The product should be unique to the point that our in-house Intellectual Properties Agent can secure rights and protection.
- Unique and clear marketable benefits. The innovation must represent an improvement or address an issue where market uptake will be rapid.
- Prototype and Manufacturing gap. There must be a need to prototype, test and manufacture product.
- Compelling business model. The product idea or invention must have an intuitive and compelling business model.
- Visible path to market.
- Passionate management. Key individual or team must have a passion for building long-term value, be fully committed to the project, and have a willingness to work as a partner.
